On April 12, Saigon.PT Co., Ltd. held a launching ceremony for the Mex Buggy Saigon service - an electric vehicle to serve visitors and tourists in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Vu Duy Anh - General Director of Saigon.PT Co., Ltd., the project was approved by Ho Chi Minh City for 200 vehicles, which will be implemented in 3 phases. In phase 1, 70 electric vehicles were officially put into operation, serving to transport visitors in the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
“Electric vehicles have the advantage of using environmentally friendly energy, airy space, and small vehicles, so they can easily access Ho Chi Minh City's hotels located on small roads. Electric vehicles are a type of service for tourists, booked by trip through ticketing applications on websites, mobile devices, and using non-cash payment devices. Do not sell individual tickets to passengers," said Mr. Vu Duy Anh.

The electric vehicles have a capacity of 8 seats and are designed with tabletops for personal belongings to enhance the experience for tourists during city tours. The highlight of the electric vehicles is the design of doors and protective frames to ensure safety during transportation. Particularly, both drivers and staff wear traditional ao ba ba shirts while accompanying tourists on each journey.
The vehicles operate from 6 am to 12 midnight every day. The operational range of electric vehicles is limited by points and routes in the inner city area.
Specifically, in District 1 and District 4: Nha Rong Wharf - Khanh Hoi Bridge - Ton Duc Thang Street - Nguyen Huu Canh - Nguyen Binh Khiem - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Hoang Sa - Hai Ba Trung - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Nguyen Van Cu - Vo Van Kiet - Calmette Bridge - Calmette - Hoang Dieu - Nguyen Tat Thanh - Nha Rong Wharf.
